T2T.1In the Summer of 2004 Mike Perdue rode about 1500 miles from the
Nauvoo Illinois Temple to the
Salt Lake City Utah Temple roughly following the trail the Mormon pioneers took after their exodus from Nauvoo in 1846. Mark Bolton joined Mike in Casper Wyoming. This became the first Temple to Temple bike ride.
T2T.2Five years later in the summer of 2009 Mike Perdue, Mark Bolton, and Mike Hansen rode the second Temple to Temple ride. Their journey covered over 535 miles of beautiful mountainous county beginning at the
Denver Colorado Temple, riding to the
Vernal Utah Temple, and finishing at the
Salt Lake City Utah Temple. This journey was written up in
MormonTimes.
T2T.3As soon as the second Temple to Temple ride was complete thoughts and ideas of the third journey were in process. Several options were considered and finally
Logan Utah Temple to
Billings Montana Temple was selected. The route took Mike Perdue, Mark Bolton and Mike Hansen through four states as well as Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. A brief article in the
Deseret News was published July 26, 2011.
